【Teach in Shikoku as an ALT in Imabari!】
Borderlink, Inc. is now hiring Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) for Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture. These positions start from August, but you can apply now and secure one in advance. If you are looking to relocate to a nearby area commutable to Imabari City, we can assist you.
Imabari is a city on the northwest coast of Shikoku. The second-largest city in Ehime, it includes the northern tip of the Takanawa Peninsula and several interconnected islands. The Shimanami-Kaido route links the main potion of the city to the nearby islands via suspension bridges. Famous for its football culture and production of towels (the city even has a towel museum) Imabari has plenty of sights to see. There's the 17th-century Imabari Castle, surrounded by a wide moat. On nearby Ōshima Island, Kirosan Observatory offers panoramic views. Hirakiyama Park on Hakata Island is known for its spring cherry blossoms. Omishima Island is home to the Ōyamazumi Shrine, with a collection of samurai weaponry. A highly scenic location in an exciting part of Japan, Imabari is a great place to take your teaching career this year!
【Position Details】
Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) work alongside Japanese teachers to make English lessons fun and engaging for the students. Practicing grammar and vocabulary, participating in games and activities to reinforce the lesson’s goals and communicating with students both inside and outside of the classroom are all part of a day’s work for ALTs.
⚫ Contract period: August 19th, 2024 to March 31st, 2025
⚫ Contract type: Full-Time
⚫ Level: Elementary Schools and junior high schools
⚫ General working hours: Between 8:00 am to 16:30 pm (actual working time: 7 hours 00 minutes)
⚫ Salary range: Between 220,000 to 250,000 yen / month
⚫ Benefits: Social Insurance, paid holidays (as stipulated by the contract)
【Requirements】
ALTs should be motivated, enthusiastic, professional and proactive in communicating with others. Successful applicants must also meet the following criteria:
🔺 Already be living in Japan and hold a valid visa permitting work
🔺 Be a university graduate
🔺 Have conversational Japanese skills and be comfortable talking with teachers and staff
🔺 Have native-level English proficiency with natural phonetic fluency and a minimum of 12 years of education where the main language of instruction in all classes was English
🔺 Are in good health and able to commit and complete the contract period (until March 2025)
🔺 Highly motivated, outgoing and friendly; able to proactively share ideas and communicate fully with other teachers
【Preferred】
Priority will be given to candidates with the following:
🔺 Able and willing to commute by bicycle
