SEG is a juku for junior and senior high school students which is well known for teaching English through a communicative and comprehension-based approach.
We are particularly well known for our extensive reading program, which complements our oral communication program.
Although we are a juku, we don't do grammar lectures. Our oral communication program is inspired by methodologies like The Natural Approach and TPRS. Please note that this ad is for positions in the oral communication part of the program, NOT for the extensive reading part of the program.

1) 3 years of jr/sr high school teaching experience in Japan
2) Experience planning and teaching original lessons
3) University degree in linguistics, language teaching, or a foreign language
4) English teaching qualification

As we take great pains to make sure that our approach is consistent with modern linguistic and SLA theory, we expect teachers to develop their own professional knowledge in these areas.
We generally look for part-time teachers who are interested in working towards becoming full-time in the future
If you are interested in the position, please write us a personalized cover letter explaining which of our five criteria you meet, your general approach to language teaching and language learning, as well as any other factors that you think would make you a good candidate for this position.
Thank you for your application.
