Founded in 1985, Tokyo International School Group (TISG) is focused on the pursuit of inspiring confident, self-expressive, English communicators with personal and social responsibility. TISG works together with Japanese private schools and companies to run a range of programs throughout Japan, from nursery school level to senior high school level. We currently have over 100 teachers working at over 300 schools throughout Japan. In 2012, TIS Group began running the “Tokyo International School Kindergarten,” the “Tokyo International School Afterschool,” and the “Tokyo International School Learning through English” programs at our four (soon to be five) model schools in central Tokyo. In 2013, TIS Group turned these programs into a franchise business platform. Besides our model schools, we also have 5 franchise schools throughout Japan.
We are currently looking to hire an HR Manager to join the team in November of this year. The main responsibilities for this role will be:
- leading the recruitment process for all TISG and franchise school teachers.
- working with the administration department on visa applications for new employees.
- working with the administration department on monthly payroll.
- maintaining employee files for all teachers.
- tracking annual leave for all teachers.
- maintaining and updating contract templates.
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working and reliable individual who has strong communication skills, an ability to perform under pressure, and excellent emotional intelligence. They will also have experience:
- working in the English education industry in Japan.
- hiring teachers.
- creating or updating contracts.
- creating and maintaining employee files.
Although not a pre-requisite, a business level of Japanese (or higher) and an ability to communicate effectively with Japanese client company staff are preferred.
With the main hiring period for teachers being the beginning of January to the end of March each year, the goal is to have the successful candidate do on-the-job training with the Director of Education from November, and then work together with the Director to complete hiring for the start of the 2022 school year.
