Attend to day-to-day supervision, support and running of all EAP programs including: the monitoring of instructor duties, teaching and administrative needs, assessment deadlines, corresponding with and contacting instructors, the creation and issuance of appropriate information and documentation, dealing with questions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and course materials.
Offer administrative and educational support to instructors and students of EAP programs.
Assist in all areas relating to the organization and conduct of make-up tests, including notifying students and instructors, invigilating examinations and collecting examination papers.
Assist in the recruitment and interviewing of new instructors.
Develop teacher responsibilities and student regulations, and respond appropriately to violations of responsibilities and regulations.
Complete all relevant documentation, input all data and assist in carrying out all relevant duties relating to the scheduling and conducting of observations, observations meetings and observation reports. Use the observation system as outlined in the observation guidelines in order to maintain the quality of instruction of instructors in the relevant educational program.
Arrange and conduct instructor training workshops and other training sessions to ensure that instructors have the necessary skills to teach classes based on the prescribed guidelines and to make instructors fully aware of all current requirements in the relevant EAP program. Use all available resources and feedback as tools to improve the conduct of future workshops.
Prepare for, teach, and complete all related comment, review and assessment tasks for any EAP course.
Assist in the timely and efficient contents development of any project, course or program designated by the Language Education Department of WAS.
Assist in the development of course texts and multimedia content including the writing, design, layout, editing, and proofreading of written material and assistance in the creation of audiovisual content.
Establish and/or amend regulations and guidelines for testing, scoring and assessment for new and existing WAS courses.
Assist in the revision of existing courses based on formal and casual feedback from instructor feedback, student evaluations, and WAS university faculty liaison.
Periodically update and modify WAS courses, curriculums, schedules and texts to ensure that WAS materials provide up-to-date and appropriate contents in all its courses and programs.
Assist in other matters relating to courses provided by the Language Education Department and related divisions which utilize the skills and knowledge of the contents developer.
Master’s degree (other degrees may be considered depending on work experience); at least one year of teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and/or conversation at the university level; and proper visa essential.
TOEIC 900 or above and overseas experience for non-native speakers.
Good command of computers, major apps, and word processing.
Must attend an interview in Japan.
