説明

Are you interested in working in a great part of Shizuoka that allows you to get away from it all along the beach? Looking to start or continue your teaching career in a fantastic area by the ocean? Seeking a great place to catch some waves on the weekends?

Borderlink is currently seeking Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) for elementary and junior high-level positions in the city of Makinohara, Shizuoka Prefecture. These positions start from April 2020, but we encourage all those interested to apply as soon as possible to secure a spot in a fantastic area along the coast!

[About the Position]

ALTs work in public elementary and junior high schools, teaching alongside Japanese teachers. As an ALT, you become a part of your students' lives as you help and guide them through an entirely new world that's second nature to you- English. You'll not only teach lessons, plan activities and make materials; you'll make the language "real" by interacting with students throughout the day to help them actively apply what they learn in class. Ideal ALT candidates are flexible with their teaching style and want to make a positive impact on the lives of the students.

We're looking for highly-motivated, outgoing, and personable individuals who can commit to the full academic year and see the contract through to the end. This not only benefits your schools and students, but also helps your fellow teachers in their own future prospects in the area you're all based. Part of being an ALT is being a team player and supporting each other. You may feel that you carry a lot of responsibility at times, but know that you're never alone and have a network of support looking out for you

Position Details:
● Location: Makinohara City, Shizuoka
● Contract Period: April 2020 to March 2021
● Contract Type: Monthly
● Level: Elementary and/or junior high schools
● Working Hours: Between 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
● Positions in this area come with enrollment in social insurance (health insurance and pension), making this excellent for those looking at staying in Japan long-term
● We will provide partial financial assistance with relocating to the area

[Benefits]

We provide initial training before you start and continuing training throughout the year. We also supply you with teaching materials and access to our library of educational resources (worksheets, flashcards, etc.) With all these tools in your kit, you'll be able to build onto what you've learned elsewhere to become a highly-valued and experienced teacher.

Other benefits include:
● Visa assistance (where applicable)
● Support with finding housing
● Round-the-clock support
● Work regular school hours and enjoy free evenings, weekends and national holidays, plus school vacation periods.
● ALTs will also be provided a yearly calendar to help manage their other commitments.

[Requirements]

Please carefully read over all requirements stated at the top of this job ad.

All positions in this area require driving, so candidates must have a valid Japanese or International Driver’s Licence. License holders who do not own a vehicle can lease a company car from us.

In addition, the following candidates will have priority:
a) Those holding a teaching license, TEFL or TESL.
b) Those with at least one (1) year experience as an ALT in Japan.

[About Makinohara City]

Makinohara is located in south-central Shizuoka Prefecture. It is bordered by Suruga Bay on the Pacific Ocean to the east, and rises gradually to the Makinohara Plateau in the west. It is an area with an atmosphere as soothing and rich as its green tea (the city's main product). Here you'll find ancient castle ruins, expansive beaches and endless rows of carefully-cultivated tea leave bushes. It's a part of Japan like none other! Although both the Tokaido Shinkansen and the Tokaido Main Line pass through Makinohara, the city has no local railway services, so the ability to drive is a must. Thankfully, wide open roads and a straightforward route along the coast allow one to access the nearby stations of Kukugawa and Kanaya, which in turn afford easy passage to major centers like Hamamatsu and Shizuoka City. If you're looking for an exciting escape to a beautiful seaside region, Makinohara is the place to be!
