We are currently hiring instructors for junior and senior high schools in the Kanto area starting in April 2025. Those who will be available to start in Fall 2024 are also welcome to apply.

[Contract period]
April 2025 – March 2026
(Possibility of renewal, depending on performance）

[Schedule]
-Five days a week between Monday and Saturday
-8:00 am - 5:00 pm
-5 lessons on average per day
*Workdays and times will vary from school to school
**May be required to work outside of regular hours for special school events

[Main duties]
-Teach English and/or other subjects based on the school curricula
-Work other than teaching: create lesson plans, prepare materials/tests, assess student progress, attend to extra activities, prepare students to study abroad, etc.

[Location]
Kanto area - Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa, Saitama, etc.

[Remuneration]
260,000 ~ 300,000 JPY/Month (Determined per skill requirements)

・Examples from 2023:
260,000~ JPY/Month for ALT position
300,000 JPY/Month for IB Maths + English
・Transportation expenses will be reimbursed monthly
・Social insurance coverage (health insurance, employment insurance coverage, and pension)
・Completion bonus at the end of the school year depending on performance and attendance
・10 paid vacation days after the six-month probationary period
・Visa support for full-time positions

[Requirements]
・ Are a native-level English speaker
・ Have received education where the language of instruction is English from Elementary School and upwards.
・ Possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University (The main language of instruction must be English)
・ Have a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching at a private Jr. and Sr Highschool
・ Have experience teaching and extensive knowledge of IB/SAT/ACT curricula
・ Experience teaching high-level English students preparing to enter overseas universities
・ Experience teaching preparation courses for entry to overseas universities
・Hold a teaching license or certificate from an accredited organization, such as CELTA, DELTA, MA TESOL, etc., which should include a practicum as part of the course work.
・ Have experience teaching subjects other than English: such as Science, Math, IT, Sports, History, Music, etc.
・ Are team-players
・ Must be able to work with colleagues effectively
・ Have a high proficiency level in Japanese (preferred)

*After successful registration with Berkeley House, each prospective school may conduct its own selection process including an interview and possibly a demo lesson.
