English Express International School is looking for a full time native English teacher to teach preschool/ kindergarten, after school classes and summer/spring camps. We are a small, but successful and expanding school, with a relaxed yet professional atmosphere. We have conservative values, and use tried and true methods of instruction, combined with research proven approaches. IDEAL CANDIDATE:
A native speaker from USA, Canada or another English Speaking country. Provides a resume, cover letter, and photo with their application. Experienced, with several years in a classroom with preschool to early grade school aged students. A university degree. A long term resident or someone with an intention to remain in Japan long-term. Enthusiasm, professionalism, and a desire to guide, lead, and inspire your students. An interest in a long-term position with room for growth.
LOCATION:
Three locations in the Yokohama area: Center Kita, Azamino/Tamaplaza and Kajigaya.
START DATE:
We have a full time position starting immediately. Depending on the candidate, part-time may be optional as well.

POSITION DETAILS:
Curriculum: English Express has an extensive, research-based, immersion curriculum which includes phonics, reading, mathematics, science, physical education, music, role-playing, story-telling, values lessons, weekly cooking and craft activities, and more. Field trips, outdoor activities, sports days, plays and pageants also make up a big part of the school year. The curriculum is constantly under development and teachers will be expected to actively contribute.
Working Hours: Hours for a typical day run from 8:45 AM until 6 o'clock PM. Actual teaching time is 6-7 hours in a day for full time, with an hour for class preparation and an hour of break-time.
Holidays: All national holidays and weekends. Spring, Summer and Winter breaks around 2 weeks, and 10-20 days sick/holiday leave.
Training: 1-2 weeks of observation and training prior to beginning full-time teaching. Continuing development and training throughout the term of employment.
Contract: 1 year contract preferred. Includes National Health Insurance, Pension and Unemployment insurance.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
Resumes will be screened and candidates who meet the minimum requirements may be contacted. Face to face interviews will be held at one of our 3 locations. Candidates who make it through the first round will be invited back for a 'hands on' interview, consisting of some in-class time, shadowing another teacher. Second round candidates will then be notified, whether successful or not, of our final decision.
