Description

Tokyo International School Sapporo Maruyama After School

Established in September 2011, Tokyo International School Group (TIS) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS) and Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) in Tokyo. In July 2014, we opened a new franchise campus in Sapporo with a company called Rensei.

TISAS is an after school program that provides an immersion environment (children must attend at least 3 days per week) for non-native English speaking children. Students attend classes from 2pm until 7pm (the students arrive anytime between 2pm and 4pm). The first 2 hours is called See, Hear and Wonder Time and is a guided play time and homework time. Between 4pm and 7pm we have 5 focused study blocks: Circle Time, Kinesthetic, Story Telling, Language Strategies, and Course Time. The Course Time is different each day with Monday being Our World, Tuesday is Art, Wednesday is Music, Thursday is Food, and Friday is Kids Force. Classes are separated by age group and the maximum number of students per class is 18.

We are currently looking to hire one Teacher for the AS program.

POSITION DETAILS: The work week is Monday to Friday. Holiday for this position are Saturday and Sunday, public holidays, five days flexible paid leave, one week during summer, and two weeks in winter. The daily work schedule is 11:00am to 20:00pm during the week.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years experience (ideally working with elementary students in Japan).

LOCATION: The school is located near Nishi 18 Chome station on the Tozai line.

START DATE: The start date is April 1th 2019.

COMPENSATION: The wage will be 270,000 per month. Participation in the Social Insurance and Pension is required (company contributions are
made on top of the stated wage level with teacher contributions being deducted from the wage). Transportation is reimbursed up to 20,000 per month.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: Rensei will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted to arrange
face-to-face interviews for teachers who are able to come to our Maruyama campus, or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be
asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews
candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. These second round interviews will be conducted
with TIS and Rensei, and Rensei will make the final decision. Once that final decision has been made, Rensei will contact all candidates to
inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will meet with Rensei to sign employment documentation.

We look forward to receiving your application.
