Description

Company and School Profile:
AIC Education Group was initially founded as a juku school in Hiroshima in 1973 and has grown to be a leader in this field. In 2003, looking to diversify and grow our educational standards, AIC Education Group established Auckland International College in New Zealand, an independent coeducational secondary school with a focus on academic excellence. In 2006 and 2007 respectively, we established a sister program, AICJ Junior and Senior Highschool, in Hiroshima prefecture.
With the continued globalization of the world, and in Japan in particular, there was and is a growing need for international education. AIC Education Group saw this need and was again ahead of the curve in launching a bilingual kindergarten in the heart of Hiroshima city over a decade ago. Using this school as a model school, we have seen steady growth and have provided the curriculum and standards to partner schools in various locations across Japan.
Furthermore, the company has, since 1994, looked to impart and nurture learning in not only academics but also in sports and fitness. The AIC Soccer Club and AIC Basketball Club are entering an exciting period of growth as the programs look to incorporate international mindedness and foster global thinkers. Over the years as our company has continued to flourish, we have actively developed new, exciting programs across not only Japan, but overseas as well. AIC Education Group continues to innovate and looks to grow as a leader in the education sector.

Position Information and Responsibilities:
This is a unique and exciting position that we are looking to fill in the immediate future. The ideal candidate is a native English-speaking teacher/coach who is proficient in both soccer and basketball. A physical education teacher or coach who is adaptable and versatile in several sports would be the ideal fit for this position. The teacher/coach should also be proficient and comfortable in an ESL/EFL setting. The teacher/coach would be in charge of the program and would be tasked with working with our curriculum team on developing the course. The candidate would also potentially be working in conjunction with other students in a more traditional classroom setting as well.
The work week for this position would be Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00am to 7:00pm (with occasional work on weekends for events etc.). Paid vacation days are every Sunday and Monday, one week during summer, one week during winter, and 10 flexible leave days (increasing every year individuals stay with the company). It must be mentioned that teachers are expected to put in the hours necessary to better enrich both the program and the experiences of the students. We take pride in our teaching and strive to deliver the highest quality education to our students.

What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate is not only confident but dedicated to teaching and coaching. Teaching young students over their formative years can be challenging but it is especially rewarding. The English teacher/coach that we are looking to work with is someone who is energetic and active. Furthermore, we are looking for a person that would be a positive role model for their students.
The ideal candidate would also be comfortable and able to coach and teach students from the ages of five and up. We are looking for passionate teachers who are looking to be part of our team long-term. We are looking to work with individuals who believe in our education style and philosophy and who are cognizant of the ever-changing nature of education. Being adaptable and willing to learn and grow are essential qualities that we value tremendously. Finally, we are looking for teachers or coaches with a minimum of two years’ experience. Related experiences will also be considered.

Compensation:
The starting wage will be 270,000 per month (including 30,000 residence allowance). The first three months will be a probation period. The company has adopted a pay-scale that sees continuing teachers earn more in successive years with increased responsibilities. Details of this system will only be discussed with successful candidates. Also, transportation costs are covered (up to 30,000 a month).
All social, health, pension, and unemployment insurance are covered by the company as stipulated by labor law.

Necessary Documents:
Candidates will be asked to provide the following necessary documents:
1) Resume
2) Copy of University Diploma
3) Coaching Certifications (if available)
4) Copy of Residence Information
5) Copies of any pertinent licenses or qualifications
6) Two Letters of Reference

Hiring Time Frame:
We are currently looking to hire a teacher for the 2020-2021 school year.
The successful candidate would start: September 1st, 2020.

Recruitment Process:
1) Resumes will be screened to see that candidates meet our minimum requirements over the course of several weeks.
2) Successful candidates will be contacted to arrange a first-round interview (face-to-face in Hiroshima or via Skype). Candidates will be asked to provide university diplomas, residence information, copies of qualifications, and letters of reference at this time.
3) Following first-round interviews, candidates will be short-listed and invited to our Hiroshima headquarters for a trial-lesson and a second-round interview. Partial or complete transportation costs may be covered by our company (dependent on distance from Hiroshima HQ).
4) Following the trial lesson and second round interviews, a final decision will be made within a few days.
5) Successful candidate will be contacted and contracts will be provided.
We look forward to hearing from you.
