Description: We are currently accepting applications for qualified teachers for classes of students 5 years and up. Our current needs include:

・Middle School/High School Chemistry, Math and English
・Elementary School Science, Math, English and Computer Studies

Responsibilities:

Teachers will perform a full range of duties, including but not limited to:

1. Preparing/implementing lesson plans that lead to student mastery of curriculum content

2. Developing/implementing integrated curriculum units, differentiating and scaffolding as needed

3. Regularly assessing student progress to refine instruction and meet student needs

4. Participating regularly in professional development opportunities and collaborative meetings

5.Communicating frequently with students, students’ families, colleagues and other stakeholders

6. Working closely with children and their families to promote personal growth and success

7. Maintaining regular, punctual attendance

8. Ability to provide online learning opportunities

9. Desire to offer extension courses after school, on Saturdays and during breaks


Qualifications (Applicants who possess the following skills will make the strongest candidates):


A. Teaching Credential or equivalent

B. Relevant subject certifications (English, Science, Math and Social Studies)

C. Demonstrated ability to implement varied classroom instructional strategies

D. Demonstrated track record with English language learners

E. Commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of students

F. Passion for working with children and their families

JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Subject Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:
A subject specific teacher works collaboratively with multiple grade level teams to deliver the school’s curriculum program using a variety of effective instructional strategies, including recommended delivery models and protocols.

SUPERVISED, EVALUATED BY & REPORTS TO:
Head of School

PARTIAL LISTING OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches the curriculum for all assigned subjects using the recommended teaching protocols.
Assesses and analyses student progress to inform instruction and design interventions to promote students progress.
Uses appropriate recording and reporting tools for communicating student progress.
Collaborates with the grade level team to plan instruction and assessment according.
Attends all Faculty Meetings
Supervises students according to assigned duties.
Contribute positively to the school climate and be a positive representative of the school in the community.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the subject area and produce curriculum documentation that reflects the Cambridge requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified teacher with at least two years of accredited school teaching experience.
Strong background in the subject area.
Experience teaching second language learners.
Experience writing curriculum and performance assessments.
Uses assessment and student work to determine appropriate instruction.
Ability to integrate technology into the curriculum.
Effective interpersonal skills to work with grade level team/administrators/parents.
Commitment to a continuous process of professional growth.
Effective writing and verbal skills.
Ability to use spreadsheet and presentation software.
Commitment to learning new technology skills.
Commitment to being a team player and contributing member of the LAIS Community.
