Description

ALTIA CENTRAL has recently earned a brand new contract in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture and is now accepting applications to join our new team of ALTs for openings here and in other Okayama and Hiroshima area towns and cities from April 2019. If you would like to work in a public school with one of the most reputable and successful companies in the ALT industry, then please apply now.

Setouchi is just 30 minutes outside of Okayama City and whilst we would prefer to find apartments for our ALTs in Setouchi itself, it may be possible to commute to some school placements as well. This is a great area, right near the ocean with a warm, sunny climate and plenty of culture, festivals and good local foods.

ALTIA CENTRAL will be conducting weekday interviews on an ongoing basis at our head office in Nagoya and our Kansai office in Osaka, as well as making several more trips to Hiroshima and Okayama cities to fill these and other positions, so we are looking for as many great applicants as possible.

Our ideal applicant is a native English speaker with a bachelor's degree (or higher) who is flexible, culturally sensitive, and motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for students.

We would also prefer applicants who have previously spent some time studying or working in Japan, and as many ALT positions do require driving, we prefer people who can or would be able to drive in Japan.

ALTs work in public schools assisting Japanese teachers, helping to provide enjoyable and energetic lessons, and interacting with the students both inside and outside the classroom. Working as an ALT is a great opportunity to improve your Japanese language ability through cooperation with Japanese staff, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly, to be positively involved with the development and well-being of young children.

ALTIA CENTRAL enjoys an excellent reputation, positive relationships with Boards of Education, and is respected by the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with a number of contracts in the Kansai area as well.

Our highly experienced native-English speaking supervisors offer a stable, reliable and extremely professional support system. We also provide excellent teacher training, a wide array of top-quality educational resources and a comprehensive benefits package including generously paid vacation periods.

If you are interested in applying and have the work ethic and enthusiasm to represent our values while making a real difference in Japan's public schools, please visit our Recruiting website for further details about ALTIA CENTRAL. Please note that successful applicants will need to be available for a full 4-day Orientation/Training session during the last week of March, before starting in school from April 1st, 2019.
