Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Japan's most reputable international schools in a newly created role. The Auxiliary Programs Manager will develop, implement, oversee and sell non-tuition, revenue-generating programs utilizing the physical and human resources of Nishimachi International School in support of the School’s mission. The scope of the role includes after-school programs, facilities rentals, summer/vacation programs and events. This position is a year-round, full-time position, reporting to the Director of Business Operations. The role is based at Nishimachi's Moto-Azabu campus and also includes oversight of activities at the school's outdoor education centre in Gunma Prefecture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

●Developing, implementing, overseeing and growing sustainable, revenue-generating programs on Nishmachi’s main Moto-Azabu campus and Kazuno (Gunma prefecture) outdoor campus year-round
●Developing and managing the auxiliary program's budget
●Administering program registration and billing
●Hiring and supervising auxiliary programs personnel
●Managing and developing summer programs
●Managing and developing after-school and vacation programs
●Identifying and coordinating rental opportunities for school facilities and grounds
●Managing school-related co-curricular programs such as sports day / annual ski trips
●Assessing the effectiveness of existing programs and the viability of new ventures
●Maintaining strong working relationships with other key managers including facilities, athletics, admissions, and marketing
●Managing school transportation program
●Developing and curating school merchandise/store

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have a university degree and a minimum of five years in an educational and / or non-profit setting. He or she must have excellent written and oral communication skills, along with exceptional organizational skills. Candidates must be able to think strategically in developing, enhancing and refining summer/auxiliary programs in the broader context of a mission-driven independent school. Working knowledge of marketing and an entrepreneurial drive to build new programs is a strong plus. This individual must have a high level of integrity and a love for working with children, together with the ability to manage a team. Strong financial acumen with a demonstrated ability to develop and manage a budget is required.
