Shibamoto & Co., Ltd. is looking for a new member to join one of our primary international business divisions. Through a licensing agreement with our American business partner, Slingmax®, Inc., we have a concentrated team stationed in Urayasu, Chiba that oversees the sales and delivery of Twin-Path® Slings to numerous companies in the defense, energy and automobile industries, and also others.

As a core member of the team, your main role will be to facilitate the timely execution of various aspects of our business with Slingmax and other partners. You will take responsibility for ensuring that your colleagues have a complete understanding of the necessary actions to be taken in business matters by monitoring ongoing communications, and also participating in face-to-face negotiations. It will also be crucial that you provide guidance to make sure that the viewpoints of our team are effectively being expressed in emails and discussions.

By making meaningful contributions to the further growth of our business in cooperation with your colleagues, there will be unlimited opportunities for professional development in multiple areas, such as business administration, international trade, and marketing and sales. It will also require that you communicate in business-level Japanese on a daily basis.

For an initial review, we ask that you provide us with a copy of your resume (with photo) along with a cover letter. Qualified candidates will be invited for interviews, which may be conducted primarily in Japanese, although interviews in English are certainly possible as well.

• Coordinate all aspects of business with our American partners
• Attend monthly sales meetings with our CEO
• Manage sales to US Military bases in Japan
• Translate technical & commercial documents into Japanese as necessary
• Act as a reliable representative of our company
• Professional conduct in accordance with government-registered company regulations

• Japanese: Business Level (JLPT N2) or above
• Graduates of American universities preferred (undergrad or higher)
• Available to travel domestically and overseas as necessary
• Experience in sales, business administration, translation, or logistics a plus
• Experience in a Japanese business environment a plus

• Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
• Full health and employment insurance per Japanese law
• Enrollment in the national pension plan per Japanese law
• Commuting expenses covered
• Performance bonuses (twice per year)
• Yearly raises (based on evaluations)
• Opportunities to advance to new positions in a stable, established company
• Opportunities to actively participate in international business development

While the daily language in our offices is Japanese, many of our Japanese staff routinely conduct business in English as well. We embrace many international viewpoints while retaining our Japanese heritage, creating a unique company culture. That culture includes morning calisthenics, regular company-sponsored events (including weekly one-coin parties), and preparing for our centennial anniversary celebration in July, 2017.

We encourage you to review our homepage at for more information. Please also see the following description in Japanese for a better understanding of the position, our company, and the prevailing atmosphere at our offices.
