A rare opportunity to gain experience of international Capital Markets in the worlds' leading group of independent advisors. As a result of the rapid rise in the stock market and the growing interest from global investors this is one of the most active areas of investment banking. We have advised on multi-billion dollar deals in Japan dealing with the worlds most prestigious companies.

STJ is the worlds leading independent advisor for capital markets - in particular equity capital markets. We also carry out investor relations and associated work. In Japan we have recently established a KK and we are looking for our first full time employee to work with the Representative Director.

Our clients include some of the largest and most successful businesses and business owners (such as Private Equity or "Sponsors"), and we are engaged on projects with a total value of several hundred billion yen.

You will be expected to analyse information and produce reports based on information supplied by our clients, augmented by Japanese information sources such as Bloomberg, the Tokyo Stock Exchange and online databases. These reports will mainly be in English though the ability to produce Japanese documents will also be required.
There is support available from other offices in Hong Kong, India (in the same time zone) and the UK in the evenings.

You will also have to do much of the basic work in an office including scheduling meetings and occasionally booking travel.

You will not be expected to act as an interpreter, but you will have to do some translation into English and a degree of assistance in some informal spoken situations would be a plus.

This is a promising opportunity for someone with the right motivation, attitude and skills to work in an area which has considerable opportunity.

It is a great opportunity to become experienced in capital markets which are growing rapidly and internationalizing in Japan as a result of the strength of the stock market.
