Guest participants for cross-cultural events (expired)

English Speaking Guests for delightful events.

Berkeley House Language Center is seeking guest participants for a cross cultural program and fun events held in Komagane-shi, Nagano pref.
Participants must be from the following list of countries which the volunteers will be dispatched to.

Countries;
Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Honduras, Chile
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Gabon
Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Marshall Islands, Maldives, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Belize

Aims of the program / event
1-1.To help the volunteers learn their target languages.
1-2.To help the volunteers learn the culture and history of their host countries.
1-3.To promote mutual understanding between the invited guests and volunteers.
In the program, the volunteers will make short speeches/presentations on their specialties and introduce traditional things in Japan. It is not necessary for the guests to prepare any presentation; bringing pictures or wearing traditional costume would be appreciated if applicable.
The guests are asked not to speak Japanese when communicating with the volunteers.

2-1 To let participants from foreign countries experience traditional / local events and food.

2-2 To let participants experience foreign cultures and promote better understanding of international cooperation by communicating Nagano citizens and enjoying Japanese tradition.

Place :Komagane-shi, Nagano-prefecture.

Tentative schedule;

1. February 28th Saturday:
Long-distance bus will be used from other places such as Nagoya or Nagnao.
8:00 Highway bus leaving Shinjuku / Nagoya / Nagano for Komagane
12:00 Arriving at Komagane( Nagano )
13:00 Language event starts
Volunteers will welcome you and introduce Japanese culture.
16:00 Language event ends
17:00 Arriving at Hotel


2. March 1st Sunday
8:00 Leaving Hotel
9:00 Short trip in Komagane with citizens of Komagane and trainees.
The last event was introducing Japanese culture of rice-cake making and a calligraphy.
13:00 Leaving Komagane for Shinjuku
18:00 Arriving at Shinjuku
