【Full Time】The English Instructors Needed in Kindergarten in Fukuoka, Japan

We are seeking an energetic full time teacher. English Instructor to join our teaching staff at SKT English Department located in Kirin Kindergarten and Nursery. We believe in a fun, yet effective approach to teaching, and is seeking a talented addition to our teaching team. We use GrapeSEED curriculum for afterschool English program and also have our own curriculum for Kirin kindergarten and nursery. We also have a new small-group English After School called "CAN!P English School".(please check out our Home Page) We are looking for additonal instructors who can stay with us for a long term to build up the quality of our curriculum and also a relationship with our students. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Fukuoka while experiencing Japanese culture at the same time.

About Kirin:
We, SKT Inc, English Department is located at the Kirin Kindergarten and Nursery School facility in Jonan-ku, Fukuoka, and we create English curriculum for children from 0 years old to 6th grade in elementary school, provide lessons, and train children to speak English. We also create regular English curriculum for Kirin Kindergarten (2-5 years old) and Kirin Nursery School (0-5 years old) and go to each class to provide lessons. In these classes, Japanese homeroom teachers are available to support the lessons. We also offer extracurricular English classes in the afternoons, preschool classes for 3 to 5 year-olds by grade, and English classes (individual and groups of 15-20 students) for 1st to 6th graders as an after-school program in the evenings. We use GrapeSEED curriculum for those lessons. In addition, we have a small-group English After School program called "CAN!P English School" , where children will be kept from around 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. We will focus on developing bilingualism in the after-school hours only.

Previous experience working with young children or previous teaching experience is highly preferred, along with previous exposure to Asian culture. Teachers must be physically capable and easily mobile as classes are fast-paced and active. Although not required, basic Japanese language skills are strongly preferred. Our ideal candidate must love children and must be fun, caring, personable, professional, and creative.

【Full-Time Teaching Position】:
Working hours from 9:20-18:30 (the time and the shift might be changed) on week days, Monday-Friday. Teachers receive a monthly salary of ¥250,000, with the company providing a maximum of ¥1,000 per day for transportation or housing allowance of up to ¥27,000 per month. A bonus of ¥100,000 (subject to taxation) is granted after signing up for the next school year contract. Enjoy a summer break (2 weeks) and a winter break (2 weeks). Seasonal events like summer/winter schools are offered during the time, there will be an additional allowances for instructors participation. Teachers are enrolled in the social health insurance program.

Moreover, during the contract period, teachers can take up to 12 days of paid leave annually for the first year. The teacher's contract spans from May 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, aligning with Japan's academic calendar. If a teacher's contract begins mid-academic year, it extends until the end of the next academic year (e.g., from October 1, 2024, to March 31, 2026).

Please note that there is a 3-month probationary period at the beginning of the contract with 3 days of paid leave. After successfully completing this initial period, teachers transition to a full-time contract.

About our Instructor:
Our Instructor must love working with young children, must be creative and flexible as an Instructor, and must be willing to adapt his/her teaching style to suit multiple classes. Instructor must be energetic and must thrive in a fast-paced work culture. Occasional classroom supervision may be required in some situations.
