POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, North Asia Region (Japan) will guide the chapter managers, chapter leadership, and regional members, consistent with the purpose and ambition of EO. The incumbent will advise chapter board officers on standard chapter operations and best practices with a primary goal of creating healthy, growing chapters that consistently deliver the EO brand to their members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential responsibilities include leading the operation of Japan Area, serving Japan Area member leaders, Japan chapter boards, and supporting the chapter staff community of Japan, being a communication liaison for the cross area, regional, and functional conversations where relevant.

・Works closely with the Area Director of Japan and serves as a direct liaison with chapter board members.
・Works closely with representative members at Regional Council from Japan and serves as a direct liaison to ensure regional business strategy and execution.
・Provides translation at member or staff calls, events or written communication when needed to ensure communication between members and chapter staff of Japan and global staff or other English-speaking members.
・Provides proofreading of translated documents from EO Products/Functional teams to ensure EO terminology, message, and brand is well reflected in Japanese.
・Liaises with the Member Service Center in the Philippines to ensure support is being provided to Chapter Staff in the region and administrative tasks are completed accurately and timely.
・Advocates for chapters and provides support as needed.
・Serves as the liaison and connector between local Board Members and EO Products/Functional teams.
・Provides clear and concise communication regarding the direction and requirements of EO to the chapters.
・Responsible for the execution and support of chapter strategic planning and annual summit meetings, monthly calls, and other scheduled chapter events.
・Ensures proper representation of the EO Brand by local chapters.
・Helps chapters with a variety of issues throughout the year with the main goal of putting the chapter in the best possible position to succeed.
・Answers questions and assists members and leaders from the region to make their membership experience stronger.
・Liaises with the Finance and/or technology teams to make sure issues in membership are swiftly resolved.
・Runs membership reports as needed for board members and EO colleagues.
・Responsible for the heavily administrative renewals process.
・Serves as the Staff Liaison to the Area Director and Experts
・Manages Forum, Learning, MyEO, GSEA, and Mentorship initiatives for the area.
・Assists the Director, North Asia Region in preparing for the annual Presidents Meeting, ・Alignment Meeting, Global Leadership Conference, and regionally delivered programs as well as preparing for Regional Council Meetings (3-5 annually), specifically with event logistics and area-related planning.
・Assists or leads parathion of certain programs or task-based projects as assigned.
・Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

・Bachelor's degree in any field.
・Minimum 3 years of professional experience, preferably in a nonprofit/association/membership organization.
・Excellent organizational and customer service skills and account management experience preferred.
・Event and logistic experience preferred.
・Proficiency in collaboration tools such as Slack, Basecamp, SamePage, CRM, etc. preferred.
・Ability to interact with entrepreneurs with tact, diplomacy and poise.
・Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
・A self-starter who desires to show ownership and commitment to the job.
・Exercises confidentiality and discretion.
・Masters nuanced communicative style in western, Japanese, and multi-cultural contexts.
・Establishes relationships proactively; shows genuine interest in the needs and concerns of others; maintains a positive attitude; and builds networks.
・Native-level proficiency in Japanese and English.
・Has a growth mindset, eager to learn, and driven to grow.
・Proactive and flexible.
