JOYTALK is now accepting applications for an energetic and enthusiastic native English speaker to work with an English After School program in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi, starting in December 2022.

● REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must:
・ be native speakers of English
・ have at least a bachelor's degree from a university
・ be willing to commit to at least the end of the school year at the end of March 2023
・ enjoy working with elementary school aged children
・ be able to follow a specific curriculum for teaching English
・ be able to supervise and play with children outside of class when required
・ be a team player
・ be outgoing with students and teachers taking initiative even in situations where English is not the main language

Applicants would also be highly regarded if they have or hold:
・ childcare qualifications or certifications
・ an early childhood education degree
・ conversational Japanese language skills
・ previous kindergarten, nursery school, after school or day care experience or teaching experience with children in their home country
・ a driver's license for use in Japan (this may make things easier but is not a requirement for the position.

● CONDITIONS & BENEFITS:
・ Work at the assigned after-school-care centre from Monday to Friday with working hours from 11:30am to 8:00pm, for 7.5 hours work and 1 hour break per day.
・ During school vacation periods, the working hours will be from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
・ Work would be just with lower elementary school grade students.
・ Teaching would be through a set curriculum, as well as learning naturally through activities and play with the children.
・ The salary will depend on the qualifications, experience, Japanese language skills, interpersonal skills, etc., and as such, will range between 250,000 and 300,000 yen per month, which equates to 3,000,000 yen to 3,600,000 yen per full contracted year (12 months).
・ Work transportation costs would be reimbursed up to 20,000 yen per month.
・ The successful applicant would be enrolled in the social insurance system, including subsidised health insurance and pension.
