Job Description
Editing materials for “GTEC,” Global Test of English Communication, and scoring of examinees’ answers for “GTEC.”

English: Native level
Japanese: Conversational
Must currently reside in Japan.
Able to commute to Benesse Corporation's office in Shinjuku, Tokyo (commuting fees paid).
Experience working in the field of English education (required).
Able to use Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint(required).
Must be able to work actively within a team and also be able to work independently. (required).
Experience editing English textbooks, test materials, or other materials (required).
Experience working in the same company for 2 or more years. (required)

Contracting duration
January 2023 to January 2024
If there is a mutual agreement between parties, the contract can be renewed for up to 5 years.

Working hours: 9:30～17:30
Break: 12:00～13:00
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays
Overtime work (paid): Approximately 20 to 30 hours per month

Tasks and Responsibilities
・Develop and edit test materials considering authenticity, suitability of content and other test specifications.
・Review content from item developers and provide them with feedback on how to improve the materials.
・Participate and lead projects to improve processes and develop new products and services.
・Review and score examinees’ answers for the Speaking and Writing sections of the test, based on rubrics and guidelines for scoring.
・Be responsible for the quality of scoring and lead projects to improve scoring processes.
・Communicate regularly with scoring sites in order to maintain the overall quality of scoring.
・Proofread English content.
