Description

ChefLab is a start-up ghost kitchen meaning we have a broad range of brands living in our kitchen. We currently have a fitness subscription meal brand and a taco brand with more brands in development. We are looking for an experienced and flexible Head Chef to help organize the kitchen’s many activities and bring them to fruition.

Duties and responsibilities
-Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
-Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
-Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
-Remedy any problems or defects
-Oversee the work of subordinates
-Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
-Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers

Work hours and Compensation
-40-50 hour workweek
-2 weeks probationary period
-After probationary period 200,000 - 300,000 JPY monthly, 6 months
-Transportation Compensated

Location: Setagaya-ku, Oyamadai

Requirements
-2-3 years of experience in a restaurant
-Experience in kitchen management
-Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
-Outstanding communication and leadership skills
-Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
-Good understanding of basic office computer programs (Excel, Word)
-Credentials in health and safety training recommended but not necessary
-Degree in Culinary Arts or related certificate recommended but not necessary
-Broad knowledge of different cuisines from around the world
-Conversational Japanese and English
-Proficient Written Japanese recommended but not required
