Description

SHIAN INC. is an internationally recognized producer of English- and Japanese-language annual reports, company brochures, and other corporate communication materials. Our goal is to deliver each client’s message in a culturally and linguistically natural context. We are seeking a full-time native-English editor/writer with a high Japanese conversational and reading level.
Our clients are stock-exchange listed Japanese companies, so you will gain valuable insight and experience regarding Japanese businesses and corporate culture. If you care about finding the best ways to communicate a message to a target audience, then you will enjoy working at SHIAN.

Applicable conditions:
-Native-level English speaker
-N2/N3 level equivalent Japanese level (in speaking and reading)
-Must currently reside in Japan and be able to commute to Tokyo
-Overtime work may be required during the busy season

Remuneration benefits:
-Annual performance-based salary increase

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
-Checking English translations against the original Japanese text
-Editing and brush up of Japanese-English translations
-Writing and copy creation and proofreading
-Management of translators

Qualifications:
-A solid grasp of English spelling and grammar
-Must have a good eye for inconsistency
-Must be detail-oriented and able to consistently apply editing standards
-Must be self-driven, yet work well within a team

Preference given to people with:
-English writing, editing experience
-Bilingual translation ability
-Investor-relations experience
-Presentation planning and editing skills

-Five-day workweek

Probationary period:
