Description

Established in 1985, Tokyo International School Group (TISG) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS), Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) and Tokyo International School Learning Through English (TISLTE) at our Nakameguro, Minami Azabu, Komazawa and Toritsudai model school campuses in Tokyo. We also have franchise campuses based in Kachidoki (Chuo-ku), Yamanashi, Maruyama (Sapporo), Shukugawa (Kobe), and Ohori (Fukuoka).

The Maruyama team has an opening for the TISKG program for the new school year.

TISKG is a three-year international kindergarten program that provides an immersion environment (children must attend at least 3 days per week) for non-native English speaking children. Students attend classes from 9:15 am until 2:00 pm. The first year of this program is an immersion focus where the aim is to build a solid base of communicative ability. In the second year, the students are introduced to the inquiry learning model and this style of learning is further reinforced in the third year. The maximum number of students per class is 14.

POSITION DETAILS: The workweek is from Monday to Friday. Paid vacation days are every Saturday and Sunday, public holidays, five days paid leave, one week during summer, and two weeks in winter. The daily work schedule is 8:30 am to 17:30 pm (with a 1-hour break), but it must be mentioned that the Teacher is expected to work the hours necessary to do the job to the best of their ability.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years of experience (ideally working with elementary students in Japan).

LOCATION: The school is located near Nishijuhachome station on the Tozai line.

START DATE: The start date is April 1st, 2021.

TRAINING: A training period of 1 week will be held prior to the start of classes.

COMPENSATION: The wage will 270,000 per month depending on qualifications and experience. Participation in the Social Insurance and Pension is required (company contributions are made on top of the stated wage level with teacher contributions being deducted from the wage). Transportation is reimbursed up to 50,000 per month.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: TISG is providing a recruitment service for Rensekai. TISG will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates who meet the requirements will be contacted from early January to arrange face-to-face interviews for teachers who are able to come to our Tokyo HQ, or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. These second-round interviews will be conducted with Rensekai staff and they will make the final decision. Once that final decision has been made TISG will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will meet with Rensekai to sign employment documentation.

We look forward to receiving your application.
