Requirements

  • English: Native level
  • Japanese: Conversational
  • Must currently reside in Japan
  • 12 years of education where English was the medium of instruction (all subjects)
  • University graduate with bachelor’s degree or higher (any field)
  • Able to commit to a full year contract with minimal consecutive absences
  • Strong desire to work with young learners (15 years or lower)
  • Valid work visa (eligible to work in Japan; we are unable to accept Tourist/Temporary visas)
  • Visa sponsorship available

The 2020 school year is underway, but there's still time to secure work as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT)! We have a few remaining positions nationwide that are just waiting for you!

ALTs work in public schools, teaching alongside Japanese teachers. Most of our remaining ALT positions are elementary or junior high level, but we do have some positions with kindergartens.

We still have positions in the following prefectures. Please be aware that only a few openings remain (less than 5) in each area, so we encourage you to apply now!

If you're able to relocate within Japan for a position in these areas, we can support you! Borderlink, Inc. is able to assist with relocation expenses (excluding the cost of rent including initial fees). Please let us know when applying!

In addition to those stated at the top of this advertisement, successful candidates should have the following qualities:

● Have strong verbal and written communication skills
● Being in good health
● Be an excellent, highly adaptable team player
● Be highly motivated, outgoing, flexible, and friendly

*While not required in every position, the ability to drive in Japan is highly valued and does greatly expand the range of possible positions. If you currently posses an International or Japanese driver's license or are looking to get one, be sure to let us know!
