Description

With the 2020 Olympics fast approaching, the new Reiwa era underway, and exciting developments in the world of English education on the horizon, it's an exciting time to be in Japan! If you've been looking for an opportunity to experience it all first-hand, you'll want to keep reading!

As an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) supported by Borderlink, Inc, you'll get to enjoy a whole new world of fun and excitement while also giving back to the community and to the next generation. It's a fulfilling and enriching job, and we're looking for enthusiastic and professional individuals to join our team.

Borderlink has been in business of English education for close to 20 years. In that time, we have grown and changed a lot as a company, but we have always held true to our mission statement: We're here to help you believe in your possibility. Many past ALTs speak highly of their experiences with us, and we often have former employees return or recommend friends and family to us. But lately we've also been expanding, and with that comes a need for fresh faces and new ideas- and that's where you come in!

As we keep moving forward to become the most well-respected ALT recruiter in Japan, we'll continually strive to support our teachers' needs as much as we can. We value the many dedicated ALTs who've been with us through the years- and as we grow, we hope we can continue to help them as much as they've helped us.

What does it take to be an ALT? The basics are native-level English ability, a university degree (Bachelor's or higher) and being in good health of course.

Personality is a major factor; Friendly, outgoing and personable individuals, even if they have no formal teaching experience, can become the greatest teachers. As long as you have the drive and willingness to learn, the possibilities are endless! Being able to commit to a yearlong contract is essential. It takes time to build relationships with your fellow teachers and students, and it's part of our responsibility to create a stable learning environment. Plus, we want to keep great teachers around! It can be a challenging job at times, but it is always an incredibly rewarding one too. The schools our ALTs work at want the best, and we'll help you be the best.

Borderlink's ALTs work mainly in public elementary and junior high schools, teaching alongside Japanese teachers and working regular school hours. This means free evenings, weekends and national holidays, plus school vacation periods. You may even be asked to help or participate in school events like the sports or culture festival!

To assist your ALT career, we offer seasonal training, access to teaching materials, and on the job guidance. To make sure you have no issues outside of work, we also have a dedicated team to help with managing visa/housing/banking issues, and around-the-clock support. There are even opportunities for growth for veterans, such as becoming an area facilitator or joining our administrative team.

If this sounds like exactly what you've been looking for, we're looking for you!! We are now seeking enthusiastic, adventurous and dedicated individuals to join us in schools starting from spring 2020. We invite you to apply now, and take the first step towards an exciting new year.

Thank you for your interest in Borderlink. Let's find your future together!

*Already in Japan? You're also welcome to apply! Part-time positions are also available; please see the application form on our website. Furthermore, we will begin holding domestic orientation sessions starting this month; please inquire for details when applying. We may also be visiting a location near you! Keep up with our social media announcements to see if we'll be in your area!

**Please note that as we receive a high number of applicants, only those who pass the initial screening will be contacted for an interview.
