Established in 1985, Tokyo International School Group (TISG) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS), Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) and Tokyo International School Learning Through English (TISLTE) at our Nakameguro and Minami Azabu model school campuses in Tokyo. We also have franchise campuses based in Kachidoki (Chuo-ku), Minato Mirai (Yokohama), Oimachi (Shinagawa), Maruyama (Sapporo), Shukugawa (Kobe), and Ohori (Fukuoka).
The Ohori team in Fukuoka has an opening for the TISAS program for the new school year.
TISAS is an after school program that provides an immersion environment (children must attend at least 3 days per week) for non-native English speaking children. Students attend classes from 2 pm until 7 pm (the students arrive anytime between 2 pm and 4 pm). The first 2 hours is called See, Hear and Wonder Time and is a guided play time and homework time. Between 4 pm and 7 pm, we have 5 focused study blocks: Circle Time, Kinesthetic, Story Telling, Language Strategies, and Course Time. The Course Time is different each day with Monday being Our World, Tuesday is Art, Wednesday is Music, Thursday is Fantastic Food, and Friday is Kids Force. Classes are separated by age group and the maximum number of students per class is 18.
We are currently looking to hire a new Teacher to join our current team of Afterschool teachers.
POSITION DETAILS: The work week is Monday to Friday. Paid vacation days are every Saturday and Sunday, public holidays, five days paid leave (after the first 6 months of employment), and two weeks in winter and set days in summer (during the Obon period). The daily work schedule is 11:00 am to 20:00 pm, but it must be mentioned that the Teacher is expected to work the hours necessary to do the job to the best of their ability.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years experience (ideally working with elementary students in Japan).
LOCATION: The school is located near Ropponmatsu station and Befu station on the Jonan line and Tojinmachi station and Nishijin station on the Kuko line.
TRAINING: A training period of 1 week will be held prior to the start of classes.
COMPENSATION: The wage will be 270,000 per month. Participation in the Social Insurance and Pension is required (company contributions are made on top of the stated wage level with teacher contributions being deducted from the wage). Transportation is reimbursed up to 25,000 per month.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS: TISG is providing a recruitment service for Eishinkan. TISG will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates who meet the requirements will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews for teachers who are able to come to our Tokyo HQ, or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence card, passport, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for the second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. These second round interviews will be conducted with Eishinkan staff and they will make the final decision. Once that final decision has been made TISG will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will meet with Eishinkan to sign employment documentation.
We look forward to receiving your application.
