Position: Qualified English Teacher for High School

Language ability:
English: Speak, Read & Write fluently and the ability to instruct, mentor.
Japanese: Working knowledge of the language and the culture is an asset.

Description of Role:
The English teacher is crucial to building the communication skills of young learners. LAIS is officially certified by Cambridge Assessment International Education examinations through Checkpoint, IGCSE, AS/ A levels. The key challenge is to plan the curriculum such that English spans all the required subjects taught and helps in acquisition of language excellence. This position necessitates the continuous curriculum development, lesson planning and implementation. The candidate will monitor individual learning plans, while delivering outstanding academic standards, meeting the rigorous standards of quality and compliance and, ensuring absolute safety in practice.

The candidate will ideally possess basic qualifications in English language; will know how to place quality outcomes in all the teaching initiatives at LAIS. The candidate must be able to understand the importance of providing flexible and personalized packages and then customize it to student’s individual needs. The Instructor has to provide feedback for the students and create a working partnership with teachers, parents and the stakeholders.

Start of work:
The role of the teacher is to attract and maintain the curiosity of the students and as such, the school will keep interviewing candidates until a suitable candidate is found. Likely start of work is mid-late August 2019.

Selection process:
All applications will be duly screened, and short-listed candidates will be contacted and preliminary contact via phone. Following that, the selected candidates must visit the school campus on two working days and spend about 5 hours on both days to teach the subject. No financial compensation is paid for this visit. The decision on hiring is based upon feedback received and the interaction with students and peers and subject to reference checks.

Type of position:

 Part-time Position.

Compensation: Commensurate with ability and willingness to work. Negotiable.


School Operating hours: Monday - Friday 8:30-18:30
Teacher timings are as per school teaching schedule.
