Description

RSK Co. Ltd. is based in Shibuya, Tokyo, and our goal is to provide services of all kinds for the millions of tourists and expats that come to visit, live, and work in Japan. Our main operation is a chain of Currency Exchanges under the banner “Sakura Exchange”, with 15 locations across Japan, and a staff that consists mostly of foreign students.

Currently, we’re looking to explore new business ventures that target foreigners. To that end, we are looking to hire a Business Development Manager who will report directly to and assist the Chief Operating Officer.

Ideal candidates will be passionate about Japan, be business-oriented, and will be able to leverage their experience and perspective as a foreigner living in Japan to identify new business opportunities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

● Identify potential business opportunities and turn them into an actionable business plan.
● Develop a growth strategy based of your experience as a foreigner living in Japan.
● Conduct research to identify new markets.
● Promote the company’s products/services, while addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.
● Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers and partners.
● Assist with the operation of our existing businesses.
● Assist the Chief Operating Officer as needed.

Qualifications:

● Native-level English is a must
● JLPT N3 level Japanese (or higher)
o Of course, proficiency in any other language is a plus
● Ability to work independently – doesn’t need micromanagement
● Excellent customer service manner – ability to interact with foreign businesses and customers with professionalism (both verbal and written)
● Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
● A good understanding of tourism trends in Japan
● University graduates are preferred; however, a degree is not necessarily required. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about Japan, and can think outside the box. We value demonstrable proficiency and charisma—you need to be good at what you do, as well as be a good “culture fit”. We’re a laid-back company (especially by Japanese standards), so if you can demonstrate why you would be a good fit, not having a degree isn’t going to disqualify you.
● Must have a valid work visa (Working Holiday OK)
o Due to the working hour limits on Student Visas, applicants with this visa can only be accepted on a part-time basis
o We do not offer Visa Sponsorship

Preference given to people with experience with:

● Business Development
● Foreign Business in Japan
● Team Management
● Tourism
● Sales
● Marketing
● Research

Location:

● Working primarily out of our Head Office in Shibuya / Center-Gai (less than 5 minutes from Shibuya Station / Scramble Crossing).
● Some travel around the city may be required from time to time.

Salary & Working Conditions:

● Starting salary is ¥200,000 – ¥250,000/mo, with transportation fare to and from work (up to ¥20,000/month) reimbursed by the company.
● There is an opportunity for salary increases as per your performance.
● Working Hours and Days are negotiable (approximately 185 hours per month)
