Bouygues Energies & Services Japan, part of the Bouygues Group, is a global player in construction. With operations in 80 countries and over 12,000 employees. We will construct a new 40 MW solar power plant in Tochigi Prefecture in co-operation with other major Japanese partner companies.

We are looking for a dynamic On-Site & Off-Site Project Manager based in either Tochigi or Tokyo to oversee a small crew of on-site workers, and handle duties in both the Tokyo office and the construction site in Tochigi.

The ideal candidate would have previous experience in construction, production, energy, or manufacturing. Have top communication skills (in person, written, phone) in English and Japanese, and a genuine interest in Japanese construction & contracts (or at least to learn more about these skills). A technical university degree in construction, logistics, mechanics, etc. along with 3-5 years experience in project management, construction, or industry will be necessary. But experience in solar power projects will be viewed very positively.

Project Management duties will include procurement of equipment, and coordination with our partner’s site manager (Japanese) to fulfill contract requirements (quality, documentation, etc) all to ensure the workflow is meeting schedule and cost. While coordination with our client on-site as a representative of the construction consortium, fielding the clients’ inquiries, requests, and claims. Coordinating with our technical team in France, monitoring activity on-site, and progressing the work overall, while providing regular reports, even supporting our partner’s site teams if necessary.

Other duties will include handling deliveries to the site from 3 main suppliers for solar panels, steel structures, and electrical equipment. While inspecting contents, recording deliveries, and overseeing on-site dispatch is according to plan, etc.

Ensuring these sorts of milestones with relevant documentation to ensure delivery, while providing occasional support to the commercial team.
