Job Description
The IT Specialized Technician – Network (ITSTN) is responsible to  provide hands-on  implementation, maintenance and break/fix support for Network infrastructure services to international sites based on  Boeing Information Technology (IT) network equipment identified as part of the GNE function and assigned under Global Enterprise Design. Assist in the identifying the requirement, parameters, ordering and acceptance of Transport Network services supporting National and Regional Network Services in Global locations.  ITSTN works closely with other network professionals in planning, implementing and maintaining network solutions that meet business requirements around International regions.

The scope of the ITSTN responsibilities includes: 
• Assist in the identification, analysis and documentation of requirements, ordering and acceptance for both classified and unclassified network transport technologies and services (e.g., voice, video, data, wireless, cable, wire) based on customer goals, objectives, cost and security constraints, to provide input into the design process.  Staff member would identify and work with the local site contacts on obtaining services access into the facility to coordinate Provider installations. 
• Coordinate with Global Site Design in the acceptance, test and turn-up of Provider delivered services.  This staff member’s duties will also include but are not limited to: Entry of data into the Circuit Design Configuration data base; Communicating with Global Site Design to evaluate and select the best Provider solution for a particular location; Developing business cases for redundancy and different design options; Path analysis for proposed solutions; Coordination with Business Management staff members to obtain budget approval for Provider Services costs.
• Implementation/installation routine implementation packages per Boeing standards (on risk level 1 – simple, pre-approved changes), including outage coordination (SNAP). Coordinate the installation with impacted customers and provide feedback to the design process based on implementation experience.
• Follow provided network failed component process (RMA)
• Assist to provide 1st level support to Helpdesk
♣ HP Service Manager (HPSM) Incident ticket mgmt.
• Level 2 break/fix
♣ Use appropriate automation tools for restoration, implementation, compliance, inventory management
• HP Service Manager (HPSM) Incident ticket mgmt.
• Assist to provide 3rd level escalation to GNE team
• Support component research under instruction from more experienced personnel to provide input for more comprehensive evaluation.
• Follow agreed Network engagement process (include Service Request (My Services) fulfillment)
• Act and assist with preventative, proactive and reactive maintenance to meet service restoration and network availability objectives, using network analysis and monitoring tools.
• Responsible for use of best practice methodology implementation and sharing
• Consistent documentation on processes, knowledge and network infrastructure
• Concise, clear communication to all stakeholders
• Identify and implement improvements to the Boeing IT Network environment in collaboration with GNE
• Provide Reports and metrics to support work statement and monitor for recurrence.
• Provide training to other staff in network related matters to allow them to act as a backup and to cross skill staff.

• Completed My Services records for Request Mgmt.
• Completed Site Notification and Profile (SNAP) records for Change and Configuration Mgmt.

• Maintain current network infrastructure documentation as needed/required
• Follow all ITI, including network engagement processes (My Services, Work Intake etc.…)

The ITSTN reports to the IT International Global Service Delivery Manager and receives functional guidance from the IT International and Global Network Engineering team and PRO 6921 IT Infrastructure.

The ITSTN frequently interacts with Network designers, end users, regional techs,  Service Fulfillment Analysts, Technical Leads, Regional Business Interface, IT Int'l Project Managers, ECST focal and external service providers.

Significant amount of business travel may be required, as driven by business needs. Special project assignment, backfill requirements or rotations may require short-term assignments to other sites and regions.

Significant flexibility is expected to perform off-hours activities, both on site and remotely.

This requisition is for an international, locally hired position. IT IS NOT FOR AN EXPAT ASSIGNMENT. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not on Boeing US-based payroll.

THIS REQUISITION IS FOR A ONE YEAR CONTRACT AS AN INTERNATIONAL, LOCALLY HIRED PERSON. Contract extension will be based on candidate performance and business requirements.

Qualifications:
• At least three years experience in enterprise IT infrastructure support and service delivery
• Hand-on experience and knowledge of network hardware, troubleshooting and configurations
• Computing or engineering degree
• Network professional technical certifications highly desirable
• Previous experience working in an International IT team highly desirable.
