Description

Oshaberi Eikaiwa Kyoshitsu (OEK) – an independent community based English Conversation school founded in 1987, is seeking a native English speaker as a full time teacher. We are located in Shimizu, Shizuoka city. Our unique classrooms are in 2 traditional Japanese houses with gardens in quiet locations. About 75% of our students are children and 25% are adults. Full Time Position start August 28th 2016

• Working schedule is 5 days a week for 40 hours, from Monday to Friday. There is a combination of morning starts and afternoon starts.
• 18 month renewable contract - 257,500 yen/month (gross)
• Teaching all ages and English levels from toddlers to adults.
• Six weeks paid vacation per year.
• Japanese is not essential
• Will sponsor a working visa

Skills that we are looking for in our new teacher
• Enjoy teaching both children and adults
• Ability to create lessons tailored to best help a diverse range of students and classes;
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team of 7 people;
• Ability to be professionally inspired by the teaching and learning processes.
• Have a knowledge of or an interest in phonics and reading and writing programs
• Contribute in creating a working environment that respects diversity, innovation and hard work.
•A person who enjoy exploring new environments and being around people of all ages.
