Description

Diamond Language School (DLS), an English school in its seventh year of operation, is seeking energetic, professional, and motivated English teachers for two full-time positions at our new school near Keikyu Kamata Station. In your cover letter, please indicate which position you are applying for.

<POSITION A>
Diamond Language School is seeking a full-time English instructor whose primary task will be to take the lead in our children’s program. The accepted candidate will be in charge of planning and delivering lessons to children in small groups as well as one-on-one. Applicants need to be self-starters who can take responsibility for managing the direction of the program. While materials and plans will be provided for consideration, the accepted candidate will have freedom to create a new program based on their own vision. The ideal candidate will have a clear vision of how to bring the excitement of learning English to the younger generation.
The accepted candidate may also be asked to teach lessons in our adult and Young Leader programs, and training will be provided as necessary.

The position is available for an immediate start date.

Candidates absolutely must:

-be native or fluent speakers of English
-have experience teaching and creating lesson plans for children
-love working with kids
-be innovative and creative
-have a valid working visa (visa renewals will be sponsored)

<POSITION B>
Diamond Language School is also seeking a full-time English instructor whose primary task is to contribute to our Young Leaders program, which provides conversation-based lessons to small groups of junior high school and high school-aged students. The accepted candidate will be based in our Keikyu Kamata school, but will also visit various branches of DLS’s parent company, Poolduck Ltd., a highly-regarded chain of cram schools in Ota Ward (Tokyo) and neighboring Kawasaki City.

These lessons supplement more formal English instruction provided by the Poolduck cram school, and focus on increasing students’ confidence and comfort level in communicating in English. The ideal candidate will bring energy, fun, and positivity to the classroom. The accepted candidate will work together with DLS staff to create a curriculum plan with the ultimate goal of increasing the students’ spoken output and improving their attitudes toward English communication.

The accepted applicant will also be asked to teach more traditional English conversation lessons to small groups of adults as part of DLS’s central operation. Training will be provided.
This position is available for an immediate start date. Experience preferred.

Candidates absolutely must:

-be native or fluent speakers of English
-enjoy working with pre-teens and teenagers
-be innovative and creative
-have a valid working visa (visa renewals will be sponsored)
