《Job Description》

English language instruction targeting pre-departure preparation for study abroad, as well as future career development after returning to Japan.
Lesson contents range from basic English development (such as grammar and daily English conversation) to preparation for English qualification exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, and TOEIC, university mock classes, and resume and interview preparation.
This role includes teaching English to students who wish to study abroad, creating curricula, and providing guidance and advice (mostly regarding life in the study abroad destination of their choice/specific English language skills). *Homework checks, etc. are handled by specific staff.


《Job Details》

・English language instruction (online & face-to-face)
・One-on-one and group lessons (10 students max.)
・One lesson session is 55 minutes. *Weekdays: 3-5 lessons; Weekends: 5-7 lessons
・Students are mainly between the ages of 18 and 30.
・You will occasionally be entrusted with the development of new curriculum
・Able to provide casual, friendly counseling for students who will join one of our study abroad programs (i.e., advice on their English proficiency, recommendations for how to spend time in their study abroad destination, etc.)


《Salary》

250,000-350,000
15 hours fixed overtime work pay is included.


《Required Skills/Experiences》

・English teaching experience (Preferably 3 years of teaching experience with adult students)
・General PC skills (PPT/Excel/Word)
・English proficiency (one of the following):
TOEIC score 850 or above /EIKEN Level 1 or above /TOEFL IBT score 90 or above /IELTS 8.5 /Cambridge Exam /Overseas university degree
・References (If possible, at least 2)


《Preferred Qualities》

・Applicable certifications (TESOL/TEFL)
・Japanese language proficiency is encouraged but not mandatory.
・Experience either studying abroad or completing a working holiday program for over 6 months
・Basic computer & class operation skills using Google Drive, Microsoft Office, etc.

《Hours》

Depending on the shift:

Monday-Friday: 10:00-19:00 or 13:00-22:00 (1-hour break included)
Saturday & Sunday: 10:00-19:00 (1-hour break included)
※8 hours a day x 5 days a week = 40 hours a week - occasional overtime work may be needed depending on the courses you will be teaching.
Work week will be 5 days a week.

Annual Holidays:

● Able to take vacations for 5+ consecutive days
● Holidays increase with the number of years of employment (as shown below):
1st year: 130 days/year in total⇒ Special Paid Vacations (11 days) + Regular Paid Vacations (10 days) + Fixed days off a week + *New Year’s Holiday.
2nd year: 134 days/year in total⇒ Special Paid Vacations(14 days) + Regular Paid Vacations (11 days) + Fixed days off a week + *New Year’s Holiday.
3rd year and thereafter: 137-145 days/year in total⇒ Special Paid Vacations (16 days) + Regular Paid Vacations (12 to 20 days) + Fixed Days off a Week + *New Year’s Holiday.
*New Year’s Holiday: 12/28-1/3 (7 days)
