Teach English to Children in Japan!

Amity is a leading English conversation educator for children in Japan. Amity has been providing international teaching opportunities for more than four decades and currently operates 96 branch schools throughout Japan. Amity is seeking enthusiastic and motivated professionals who enjoy working with children.

Successful candidates must have native English fluency, have the ability to work with a wide range of ages (student ages range from six months to 18 years old), possess good communication skills, be approachable, and be open-minded to cultural differences. The candidate must also be creative and have a willingness to learn Amity's teaching methods in addition to improving their own teaching skills. Teaching and/or business experience, as well as Japanese language ability is helpful, but not necessary. Candidates must have a BA/BS degree (all majors considered) and have completed all of their elementary and secondary education primarily in English. Initial contracts require a minimum 1 year commitment.

Based on qualifications, Amity offers a competitive salary of up to 275,000 Yen per month to first year teachers, visa sponsorship, subsidized housing, subsidized corporate health insurance, and more. Teachers are also eligible for monthly bonuses which are dependent on student numbers and class load, as well as a contract completion bonus. Further financial incentives may also be available to qualifying domestic applicants for housing, commuting, and dependent support.

Please see our company profile to view our current open positions. Even if you are not available for the listed locations, we are always interested in interviewing qualified candidates for future positions.

Access the application portal by clicking the link below. Please note that the application page will differ depending on whether you currently live abroad or in Japan. Please read over the information on the application webpage, as well as the comprehensive information provided in English on our website. Please understand that the stipulations for domestic and international applications differ slightly.

If you are currently living in the Philippines, please apply through the "Domestic Native English Teacher Recruitment" portal and input information pertaining to the Philippines. Your application will be handled by the Amity Japan Office. Please understand that the process and stipulations for teachers from the Philippines may differ from those listed online due to Philippine labor regulations.

Additionally, non-Native (Japanese and non-Japanese) teachers with high level English ability and business-level Japanese fluency may also be considered for other teaching positions. Salary and employment stipulations will be different from the Native English Teacher position.

As part of the online application, applicants will be directed to submit a current resume and cover letter. Candidates who submit Amity Applications with missing information may not be considered.

Please feel free to contact the recruiting offices with questions at any time during the application process. Contact information is available on the websites. However, please understand that we are not able to respond to all applications.

*Please do not contact or visit Amity branch schools directly, as they are not staffed to handle recruiting inquiries. Please apply here.
