Full Time Kids' English Teacher

Tom's Crew English is a family owned and operated private English conversation school located in Toyama City, Toyama, Japan. Our school moved to a larger premises in January 2024 to accommodate our growing student base and we would like to add a new teacher to our team.

Most of our students are in preschool and elementary school, however, we have lessons for toddlers, teens and adults, too. In addition to teaching lessons at our school, we also regularly teach English at local kindergartens and nursery schools. We are a sister school with the Pacific Language School in Tokyo, and use the PLS system to teach kids English.

We are looking for a friendly and confident native English speaker to teach with us, aid us in our expansion, and become an essential and cherished member of our crew over the years to come. Our new teacher must love playing with kids, be willing to learn the PLS system, have a bright and friendly smile, a passion for teaching children English, be open, adaptable and flexible, and be able to tolerate life in Japan. Experience teaching small children in Japan or elsewhere is a plus.

Tom's Crew will provide training in house and through PLS in Tokyo or Osaka. Duties beside teaching include planning lessons, record keeping, keeping track of students' progress, attending meetings, helping with special events and helping to keep the school clean.

We are offering a renewable annual contract with a 100,000 yen bonus for renewal. Work hours are 40 hours/week. Regular days off will be Sundays and Mondays, with longer holidays over the summer, winter and and Golden Week breaks. Pay for the first year is 250,000 yen/month before tax. From the second year a higher salary will be awarded based on performance. .
