Description

Aiwin International School is currently seeking passionate and experienced full-time early childhood educators / international school teachers for the new academic year at one of our four Aiwin campuses: Mikuni campus, Toyonaka campus, Senriyama campus, and our soon-to-open Shukugawa campus. Aiwin International School (Toyonaka campus) is a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).

We are not an English conversation school. We teach in English rather than teaching English, so applicants must be aware of the challenges associated with holistic education rather than language instruction, and they should be proactive about their own professional development. Currently, we are seeking teachers for Homeroom Teaching position for our growing school community with responsibilities and employment package as follows:

Homeroom Teacher Positions for Ages 1-6 (Early Years and Kindergarten)

Roles and Responsibilities

Role:

The teacher is responsible for delivering a high-quality, concept-based inquiry, constructivist approach to education that aligns with International Baccalaureate standards and practices. This role involves planning, teaching, and assessing students within the curriculum framework, fostering a positive learning environment, and contributing to the overall development of students. Additionally, the teacher will collaborate with colleagues, engage with the school community, and support the continuous improvement of the early years program.

Main Dutie and Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver lessons that align with the Aiwin curriculum framework.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques to cater to diverse learning styles.
• Use assessment data to inform instruction and provide feedback to students based on school assessment policies
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and reflect on teaching practices.
• Engage with parents and the community through meetings, conferences, and events.
• Provide individualized support and guidance to help students achieve their goals.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of developmentally appropriate and inquiry based teaching and learning approaches.
• Stay current with educational researches and updates
• Reflect on personal teaching practices and seek opportunities for improvement.
• Adhere to the schools BASIC global skills and SOIL teaching standards and practices.


Position Requirements

Academic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree (degree in Education desirable)
• A recognised teaching qualification or certification in Early Years or Primary Years (desirable)
• Certification as an IB PYP Educator (desirable)

Competencies:

• Teaching experience and a strong understanding of a developmentally appropriate and inquiry based learning.
• Experience in whole child and differentiated curriculum implementation
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and support a diverse team of educators.
• Shared commitment to the school’s philosophy and values.

Employment Conditions

Working Hours:

Mondays to Fridays
• 9 hours between 8:00 to 18:00, including 1 hour break
• Some school functions may be held on weekends (Sports Day, Cambridge English Assessment, Parent-Teacher Conferences)
• Work assignment in different campuses

Probationary Period:

• All entry staff will undergo probationary training for 3 months. After successful completion of Probation, staff will sign another contract for the remainder of the school year.

Salary:

• Salary depends on teaching qualifications, experiences and credentials
• Transportation allowance offered up to a maximum of 25,000 yen per month
• Work Incentive offered (conditions apply)
• Bonus offered for permanent employees
Social Insurance:

• Full time employees receive social insurance with dues partly covered by school
Paid Holidays:

• 10 paid holidays granted after 6 months of employment (increases every year of employment)
Professional Development:

• IB PYP Category 1 Workshop (for Toyonaka campus)
• Yearly appraisals of leadership performance
• Permanent employment may be offered upon successful leadership appraisal

Recruitment Process

• Initial Screening and Application Review: Reviewing resumes, cover letters, and any additional application materials. Reference check; contacting provided references to gather insights on the candidate's past performance, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team. Background check; conducting background checks to verify employment history, education credentials, and criminal record (if applicable).
• In-person/on-line Interview: Inviting selected candidates for face-to-face interviews to discuss their teaching philosophy, experience working with young children, and alignment with the educational goals of the school. Requesting candidates to conduct a teaching demonstration or present a sample lesson plan to assess their instructional methods, classroom management skills, and ability to engage young children.
• Final Interview: Selecting the candidate who best demonstrates a passion for early childhood education, commitment to child development, and fit with the organization's values and culture.
• Offer of Employment and Contract Signing: Extending a formal offer of employment, detailing compensation, benefits, and other relevant terms.
Induction: Assisting the new early childhood educator with the onboarding process, including orientation, training schedule and introduction to school policies and employment regulations.
