Requirements

  • English: Native level (preferred)
  • Must currently reside in Japan
  • Significant experience with the IB PYP program/IB experience (5 years preferred).
  • Teaching licensed from the country of origin.
  • This person has to live within 45 min from Hachioji or be able to relocate.
  • Priority will be given to candidates with at least one year of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure, and pay attention to detail.
  • Visa sponsorship available

Description

Hello from Tokyo West International School. We are an International Baccalaureate candidate school. We are looking for a leadership team member for April 2021

Duties:
(1)Provides effective leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the instructional program.
(2)Administers total school facility, climate, and discipline of the school.
(3)Coordinates the faculty, staff, and students at the school.
(4)Interprets and enforces laws and local board policies.
(5)Interviews and recommends hiring new classified staff.
(6)Assists in securing, maintaining, and managing material resources.
(7)Prepares and administers the school budget and supervises school finances.
(8)Assumes responsibility for scheduling.
(9)Ensures appropriate placement and services for students.
(10)Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
(11)Provides professional learning opportunities for staff.
(12)Communicates and clarifies the school’s mission to students, staff, and community.
(13)Provides a safe, orderly environment that facilitates teaching and learning.
(14)Fosters a positive climate of high expectations for staff, students, other administrators, and the board.
(15)Supervises, observes and evaluates teachers and staff.
(16)Implements personal professional learning plans and demonstrates professional ethics.
(17)Maintains proper certification by attending college, workshops and/or professional development courses.
(18)Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and ethics, working cooperatively with the Director, Board, other administrators, certificated and non-certificated personnel, parents, and students.
(19) Execute IB accreditation and Cognia evaluation
(20)Conduct new parents interviews
(21)Create bus duty schedule and assign teachers
(22)Performs other assigned duties as requested by the headmistress.
