English Teacher (expired)

Seeking an English language instructor based in Miyagi Prefecture.
Duties and expectations include...

- Teaching student-centered lessons to all ages and ability groups at a private language school.
- Engaging with students in English on a variety of subjects and skills (English language arts, math, science, technology, geography, history, and more) in a CLIL classroom.
- Cooperating with other teachers and staff to improve lesson quality.
- Helping at school events (such as festivals or holidays).
- Striving for high standards in education and personal improvement.

Conditions of employment include but are not limited to:

- English-speaking level: Native-level proficiency
- Experience teaching English or other subjects
- Experience residing in Japan
- Must be comfortable using tablets and computers
- Must be capable of working actively and cheerfully with students

Schedule:
- Three days / week
- Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 2pm - 8pm (hours may vary by day)
- Annual vacation time is guaranteed (Golden Week, summer, winter)

Location: Kamisugi (Kitayobancho), Sendai

- Convenient access via Sendai City Subway (Kitayobancho Station)
- Other school locations in Nagamachi, Ichibancho, and Arai
- Teacher may be requested to attend any branch for training or events
- Bus routes / car parking also available upon inquiry
- Public transportation stipend included

Employment begins with a training / probation period of up to but not exceeding three months. Contracts are renewed annually upon mutual consent. Other employment incentives are available based on performance and mutual consent.
