GG International School is currently looking for an experienced kindergarten teacher to start as soon as possible or from the next school year. This is not an “English Teacher” position. This is a kindergarten teaching position with full-day childcare and academic classroom management responsibilities for students 3-5 years old.

GG International School is a school located in the heart of Tokyo in the Meguro-Shinagawa area. We offer full-day nursery and kindergarten programs, as well as an afterschool program. The school’s curriculum is based on an art to science progression and offers teachers considerable control over their classrooms. All programs are designed to encourage an emerging sense of self, while nurturing intellectual growth, exploration, and socialization in a safe, supportive environment for children ages six months to 12 years.

Contract Period: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Fixed becoming non-fixed after probationary period
Location: Meguro Line, Ikegami Line, Asakusa Line
Working Days: 5 days/week (days off Saturday/Sunday)
*Due to school events, teachers may need to work 2-4 Saturdays per year.
Regular Working Hours: 8:00-17:00, 9:00-18:00, 10:00-19:00
Teaching Hours: 3-5 hours/day
Monthly Compensation: 250,000-300,000yen (before tax) + 15,000yen per month transportation fee
* Negotiable and will be decided based on the candidate’s education/experience

- Care and supervision of 20 3-6yo students
- Lesson planning and preparation - language arts, art, science, social studies, math, health & values
- Curriculum and resource development
- Creating, making, and proofreading academic portfolios/progress reports
- Attending meetings, school events, school ceremonies
- All parent-teacher communication related to student well-being and school life
- Writing notices and informational materials for families and school staff
- Planning and organizing school events and excursions
- Other necessary tasks related to student well-being, classes, and school life

Qualification Requirements:
- Native/fluent English speaker
- Must have a bachelor's degree or higher (concentration in related field is preferable)
- Demonstrated history of making and implementing effective and interesting lessons for young learners
- Dedicated, enthusiastic, and energetic teacher who is interested in working with children
- Proven record of excellent class management skills
- Effective communication with students, co-workers and parents
- Promotion opportunities available after demonstrated success
- Resilience to illness, strong constitution
