Description

At Tokyo West International School, we would like to run our school as a place where children are eager to come every day to play with friends and enjoy lessons. Our main goal is to have children enjoy every moment at school. We strive to improve our facilities and educational environment to maintain the highest quality in childhood education.


The positions require native English skills and advanced skills in Japanese and are especially suited to Japanese nationals such as returnees who have appropriate English proficiency.

The main objectives of the admission officer include:
・Student enrollment and withdrawal procedures.
・Organize school tours and orientations.
・Registration of new students.
・Advertising strategies and enrollment management.
・Recruitment process support and responsibilities.
・Other school-related works
・40 hours/week(plus one hour break), evenings and weekends (once or twice a year)
・Riding the school bus as a bus attendant
・Overnight/ trip chaperone once or twice a year
・Light translation from Japanese to English and vice versa

The main objectives of the administrative assistants include:
- Supporting the administration team in creating an efficient office environment.
- Contributing to maintaining effective channels of communication.
- Providing organizational and logistical support to ensure smooth daily operations.

Some of the specific responsibilities include:
- Performing general word processing, data input, and clerical work (e.g., filing, photocopying).
- Maintaining electronic and paper-based records.
- Scheduling appointments, taking minutes at meetings and liaising with courier companies.
- Coordinating orders and distribution of consumables.
- Translating written communications (English/Japanese and Japanese/English).
- Liaising with families regarding school area-related administrative issues.
- Providing interpretation at meetings, information sessions, parent conferences, etc.
- Responding to telephone, e-mail, and personal inquiries related to the school area.
- Assisting with the running of area events and activities.
- Performing student supervisory tasks (e.g., playground duty).
- Performing other duties as requested.

Applications will be accepted from persons from any national background; however, native-level fluency in Japanese with advanced English skills are essential. Applicants should have strong interpersonal and communication skills and a proven capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues. Also, applicants should have a genuine interest in children and should be patient and flexible. IT skills are also essential. For non-Japanese nationals, applicants with an appropriate visa (e.g., permanent resident, spouse or child of Japanese national, long-term resident) are preferred; however, visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.

Working days: Monday - Friday, .evenings and weekends once or twice a year
Working time: 10 am -6:00 pm with one hour break
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, Japanese national holidays, school holidays
Starting Salary: 230,000 yen per month based on experience and qualifications
Insurance: Social insurance, unemployment insurance, labor insurance are provided
Trial period: 3 months
Sick Leave: 5 days/ year (you can start using it after six months of work)
Required valid teacher’s license, valid working visa
At least one or two years experience is preferable
Transportation: Yes (Maximum 20,000 yen/month )
Closing date: 20th of each month
