Description

Borderlink is currently seeking Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) for daily (part-time) positions in one of Japan's biggest cities- Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture! These positions start from May and are an excellent opportunity to further your teaching career at a more relaxed pace.

Daily positions are perfect for those seeking further experience in the classroom on a lighter schedule that allows for more free time for other work or activities. If you're already working an evening or other part-time job, a daily position is a great way to earn additional income. ALTs will be provided a yearly calendar which will help manage their other commitments.

Best of all, these positions are located in central, urban Nagoya. There's no need to travel far out into the countryside; if you're living in Nagoya, you're already right where the action is! And if you're planning to move, you'll find Nagoya to be one of the warmest, most inviting places to live!

[About the Position]
ALTs work in public elementary and junior high schools, teaching alongside Japanese teachers. As an ALT, you become a part of your students' lives as you help and guide them through an entirely new world that's second nature to you- English. You'll not only teach lessons, plan activities and make materials; you'll make the language "real" by interacting with students throughout the day to help them actively apply what they learn in class. Ideal ALT candidates are flexible with their teaching style and want to make a positive impact on the lives of the students.

[Position Details]
● Location: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture
● Contract Period: May 2020 to February 2021
● Contract Type: Daily (Part-Time)
● Level: Junior High and High schools
● Salary range: 13,300 yen to 14,300 yen (daily rate)

[Requirements]
In addition to all requirements stated above, successful candidates must:

● Have good communication skills and patience
● Be in good physical and mental condition
● Be living in the Nagoya area or willing to relocate by the end of April
● Be able to commit to the entire length of the contract (until February 2021)

[Benefits]
We provide initial training before you start and continuing training throughout the year. We also supply you with teaching materials and access to our library of educational resources (worksheets, flashcards, etc.) With all these tools in your kit, you'll be able to build onto what you've learned elsewhere to become a highly-valued and experienced teacher.

Other benefits include:
● Visa assistance (where applicable)
● Help with relocation & finding housing
● Round-the-clock support
● Work regular school hours and enjoy free evenings, weekends and national holidays, plus school vacation periods.

[About Nagoya City]
Japan's fourth-largest incorporated city and the capital of the culturally-rich Aichi area, Nagoya is the place to be if you want to go everywhere else. But with so much to do in this wonderful city alone, you may never want to leave! It is best known for being the center of the automotive industry in Japan, as well having a strong sense of history. It is even said to be the home of both samurai and ninja culture.

Nagoya's cuisine is top-tier, with a range of local sweets, noodles and sushi. By far the most famous is Miso Katsu, a wholly unique take on the popular breaded pork cutlet dish. Living in and around Nagoya affords one all the conveniences of a big city, but with a completely unique style from living in Tokyo or Osaka. Being at the center of where east and west Japan meet, Nagoya truly is the best of both worlds!
