Link Japan Careers is looking for a Director to join our team in the United States and work with us to place talented people into rewarding positions in the Japanese educational sector.

As a Director, your tasks will focus on all aspects of business development, operations, and delivery of capable teachers to LJC in Japan. You will be in charge of functions such as budgeting, HR, quality assurance, staffing, scheduling, compliance, marketing, and representing LJC as the company spokesperson in the US.

Please note that this is a position located in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. It is not a remote work position and requires the candidate to be able to relocate to the greater Salt Lake City area.

Requirements:

1 Possess the necessary abilities and qualifications for the position

5 Previous management experience in a Japanese business environment

Successful candidates may also have:

-experience living and working Japan, especially in the education or recruiting industries
-a valid driver's license
-Japanese language ability (conversational and above)

Founded in 2016, Link Japan Careers is a job placement and consulting firm based in Tokyo, Japan. Part of the Link and Motivation Group, consisting of 14 group companies with offices and services all across the country, we specialize in the education industry, specifically in placing assistant language teachers (ALTs) with Link Interac. Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board
• Provide strategic advice to the board so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company’s future
• Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
• Ensure LJCA operates in compliance with all required laws and files all required information with Federal and State authorities] from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times
• Communicate and maintain trust relationships with clients, business partners and authorities
• Oversee the company’s financial performance and business ventures
• Be responsible for and implement overall HR management for employees of LJCA
• Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of employees providing guidance and motivation to drive performance
• Processing and management of employee payroll and insurance requirements
• Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile
• Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
• Ensure required and requested financial and other reports are compiled and delivered on time as directed by the Board
• Manage office and all equipment owned or leased by LJCA.
• Arrange and maintain all database and communications systems required for LJCA's business to function effectively and securely

Competencies

• Proven experience in a managerial position
• Experience in developing strategic and business plans
• Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
• Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
• Familiarity with corporate and HR law and management best practices
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
• BSc/BA in a relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, or higher, is required.

Language Skills
While not required, the ability to speak Japanese is preferred.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Experience:
• JLPT exam certificate (preferred)
• Having lived in Japan for a minimum of 12 consecutive months (preferred)
• Experience in a managerial role in a Japanese company or an equivalent position in an international company
