Description

Sendai Ikuei Gakuen High School is an International Baccalaureate World School. The school is currently seeking a qualified and professional high school mathematics teacher for a full-time contract position in the school's IB Diploma Programme.


The school will provide professional development.
The teaching of additional non-IB classes (Mathematics immersion classes / English oral communication) may also be included in the teaching workload.
The average teaching load will be approximately 20 teaching blocks (out of a 35-block schedule) per week.

Additional Details:

Position to start April 2025.
Work week: Monday to Friday, Some Saturday mornings required (approximately twice a month)
Hours: Weekdays 8:30-17:15 / Saturday 8:30-12:30
Leave: 20 days paid leave per year, all National holidays recognized
Sunday and Public holiday work required a limited number of times throughout the year (school events etc)
Health Insurance (private school system)
Commute expense reimbursement
Housing subsidies may apply

Key tasks
Prepare and deliver effective and appropriate units and lessons in accordance with IB standards and requirements;
Differentiate lesson material to meet a variety of student's needs and learning styles.;
Use a variety of learning methods that encourage student discussion and collaboration;
Monitor, record, and assess student progress;
Abide by IB assessment criteria as outlined in Subject Guides
