A part-time teaching position is available at a private junior and senior high school.
Teaching load will be primarily focused on ELL classes, but candidates who also have the ability to teach returnee lessons (U.S. style English literature and grammar) are preferred. Pay is ¥7,617 per 65-minute lesson.
This amount includes any lesson planning, grading, department meetings, faculty collaboration, entrance-exam related events, or administrative duties that coincide with lessons. Teachers are expected to create their own lesson plans with support.
Lessons are held Monday through Friday, and the teacher will be assigned 7 to 11 lessons per week. This position requires the candidate to come at least four days a week.
Additionally, there is a paid transportation subsidy to and from school (actual expense).
After school classes are available (voluntary), and are a way to earn generous extra pay.
At personal expense, teacher may join the National Health Insurance program.
Contract to begin on April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024. Contracts are for one year and renewable upon mutual agreement.
This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored relocation.

Basic requirements:
Native English speaker (preferably from a country where English is an official language)
BA/BS degree in English or related field
3 years academic teaching experience, preferably not exclusively ALT or language school experience
Preferred:
Teaching certificate in home country
TESOL or related certification
Master's Degree in English or related field
Experience teaching ELL (and, if possible English for returnees)
Japanese language proficiency (N3 or higher)
