About UNSW Foundation Studies Program
UNSW Foundation Studies Program Kyoto Campus which is a part of the Kyoshin group – a large company which provides services such as nursery schooling, extra-curricular education and health care services – is looking for native English academic teacher for University Foundation Course in Kyoto.

Kyoshin opens “New South Wales University Foundation Course Japan School” in February 2023, a preparatory school for prestigious Australian universities ranked 43rd in the world.
We are approved and licensed by UNSW Global to deliver the Program. While in Japan, attend a university preparatory school in Australia and study the basic course for 9 months. We plan to accept up to about 40 students who wish to study abroad each year.

This job is to teach the curriculum prepared by UNSW Global to the students.

Work days and time
Depends on the timetable, exclude Saturday and Sunday.

Payment
5000-10000 yen per hour (depends on experience)

Requirements for Teachers of one or more academic subject areas:
• a minimum three-year undergraduate degree relevant to the course being taught; and
• either:
(i) hold a Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Education, Diploma of Education Studies, or a two-year Teaching Certificate; or
(ii) have at least two years of senior secondary, vocational education and training college, or higher education teaching experience, including breadth of experience in delivering to students from non-English speaking backgrounds.

As teachers are required to deliver the Program in English, teachers who are not native English
Speakers are required to demonstrate to the Provider and UNSW Global proficiency in English. We will consider:

• whether the teacher has a recognized degree completed in English and how long ago this was completed;
• any experience teaching in English (at least two years' experience teaching in English is desirable);
• whether the teacher has lived and worked in a country where English is the primary language; and
• Whether the teacher has an official language level equivalent to IELTS 7.5 or above.

Requirements for Academic English Teachers:
• hold a minimum of a three-year Bachelor degree;
• hold an English language teaching qualification; and
• have at least two years’ ESL/EFL teaching experience

An English language teaching qualification includes:
• a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language;
• a Graduate Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language;
• a Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics; a Diploma of Education (English); or
• a recognized Teaching English as a Second Language program.

Teacher Responsibilities
Teachers have the following responsibilities to:
• follow the curriculum and lesson plans;
• uphold the pedagogy and quality of the Programs;
• deliver the Programs in English;
• support students with the aim of them completing the Program with their best possible results and achieving their Stated Goals;
• identify students at risk of poor performance during class activities, through their coursework assessment, class interactions or lack of attendance;
• support student welfare and safety;
• not copy, share or otherwise disseminate any of the Program material, curriculum, lesson plans, teaching resources or exam material;
• not engage in any private tutoring or coaching of any student enrolled in the Program; and
• promote UNSW actively and positively where possible and encourage students to consider
