Description

Sendai Ikuei Gakuen is an International Baccalaureate World School.

The school is currently seeking a qualified, professional and experienced Visual Arts teacher for a full-time contract position in the school's IB Diploma Programme.

The teacher will be required to supervise students' preparation for the exhibition component of assessment; and supervise the students' research projects- Visual Arts Comparative Study (CS) and Process portfolio (PP). Teachers may also be required to supervise Extended Essays written for Visual Arts therefore experience with academic writing is also required.

The school will provide professional development.
The teaching of additional non-IB classes (English oral communication) will also be required. Average teaching load will be approximately 20 teaching blocks per week.

Additional Details:

Work week : Monday to Friday, occassional Saturday mornings required
Hours: 8:15-17:30 (40hr week)
Leave: 20 days paid leave per year, all National holidays recognized

Key tasks
Prepare and deliver effective and appropriate units and lessons in accordance with IB standards and requirements;
Differentiate lesson material to meet all students' needs;
Use a variety of teaching methods that encourage student discussion and collaboration;
Monitor, record and assess student progress;
Abide by IB assessment criteria as outlined in Subject Guides
