Description

Three Stars International School is a preschool/kindergarten located in Kawasaki, within walking distance of both Takatsu and Futakoshinchi station. We are currently looking for a Head Teacher teacher for an immediate start.

Teachers at Three Stars have an opportunity to not only teach in the classroom, but also take an important role in planning events and using their creativity to make learning fun! We believe that each of our teachers brings unique experiences and perspectives to the classroom, and we encourage them to draw from these experiences to create a fun, friendly, internationally-minded atmosphere in their classroom.

We teach children ages 2 to 6 a wide variety of subjects in English through games and activities. Our four year curriculum allows for children to attend every day of the school week, in order to fully benefit from English immersion. Some of the subjects we teach are phonics, mathematics, grammar, social studies, science, and values.

We believe that learning also happens outside the classroom. Throughout the year, teachers participate in school trips to places such as a safari park, aquarium, science museum, fire station, post office, and farms for rice planting, potato digging, and apple picking. We also host and participate in events throughout the year such as field day, overnight summer camps, mud play, school plays and performances, and making mochi from scratch!

As the Head Teacher, you will lead a team of teachers from various countries around the world, ensuring the daily quality and management of the school, planning field trips and events, maintaining and writing curriculum, as well as many other duties.

In addition to Head Teacher duties, you will be in charge of your own kindergarten class. In all of your classes it will be your responsibility to prepare appropriate materials in accordance with school curriculum, plan fun and effective lessons, and help your children reach the learning goals of the class.

We look for teachers who are creative, who don't mind playing silly games with kids, and exude a positive, friendly personality. Experience in appreciated but not required. We expect our teachers to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. This includes being punctual, dependable, committed, flexible with schedules, and working as an essential member of a team. Above all else, we value someone who enjoys working with children and desires to make a positive, lasting impact on their futures.
