Middle School Principal candidate(IB MYP) (expired)

Capital Tokyo International School (CTIS) is recruiting for a Sr. Teacher and Principal candidate of our upcoming Middle School. CTIS is opening in April 2022 and is going to provide Elementary education initially, and then launch a Kindergarten and a Middle School in 2023. This position would be a founding leadership and teaching role that would transition into a full leadership role over time for a Middle Years Program, grades 6 through 8 or above.

Applicate Characteristics
Successful candidates will be self-starters and have the ability to deliver results and meet deadlines for assigned tasks while also taking ownership of their responsibilities, paying particular attention to task-related details. Listening and being able to understand different perspectives across cultural groups and school communities are also core skills.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:


● Native-level English speaker
● Ability to live and work in Japan with no visa requirements.
● Bachelor’s Degree required. A Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
● Japanese proficiency-Business level (e.g., N3, N2)
● At least 5+ years of successful teaching and leadership experience, ideally in an international middle and high school.
● Demonstrated history of effectiveness in leadership of a school.
● IB certificates in MYP and DP teaching or leadership.

Desirable Experience
Experience with authorization of an International Baccalaureate program (MYP or DP).
