Requirements

  • Must be living in the Yokohama/Tokyo area or willing to relocate.
  • Must be energetic and willing to work evenings and weekends.

Description

We are looking for the right candidate who would be able to start immediately.

We are a small, friendly school located in Yokohama, currently with 4 teachers and more than 250 students (mostly adults). The method we use is fully scripted.

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced instructor to teach the Callan Method - a unique direct method style of teaching.

· Callan Method teaching experience is desirable but is not a requirement.
· Experience with TOEIC, TOEFL, TESOL, IELTS, EIKEN is preferable but not a requirement
· The applicant must be a native-level English speaker with an outgoing character.
· You should definitely be a people person, with a strong command of English grammar.

There will be a paid training period of 2 to 3 weeks for applicants who have passed the interview and screening. In the training period, we will introduce the applicant to the Callan Method (http://www.callan.co.uk/).

Applicants with thick regional accents will not be considered.

Unfortunately, we can't accept applicants with a TOURIST or WORKING HOLIDAY VISA.

The school is open from Monday to Thursday from 13:10 to 22:25, Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 18:15 and closed on Fridays. You will be required to work three weekdays and two full weekend days a week. There are 10 days off spread out over Christmas, New Year's and Golden Week. Additional paid holidays are offered six months after the start of your employment.
