Description

J-List is an established online shop based in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, that sells a wide variety of Japan-related products to customers all over the world, including anime related toys, bento boxes, kanji and anime T-shirts, English-translated visual novels including Steins;Gate. We have an immediate full-time opening for a Graphic and Web Designer who is currently inside Japan

Job description and Requirements

The job is for a Web Designer who will take responsibility for the J-List websites, including planning future site changes and improvements, and work with site developers to maintain and improve the site. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with writing copy for products and websites as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Japanese Working Visa
- 2+ years industry experience
- Ability to create manuals, packages or other designs using Photoshop, Illustrator etc.
- Good written English skills
- JLPT Level 3 or better

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Proficiency using Adobe Photoshop or equivalent
- Knowledge about web marketing and email standards
- Experience in building responsive web design
- Experience in the e-commerce industry
- Experience with Wordpress
- Knowledge of anime, manga and "otaku" culture, especially current trends and popular blogs/websites.
- Knowledge of American and Japanese memes, such as those found on Pixiv, 2ch and 4chan.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary is 280,000-350,000 yen per month depending on experience, plus twice-annual bonuses based on personal and overall company performance, with annual raises and flexible vacation time. Additionally, a company car will be provided (gasoline and related costs being your responsibility), along with assistance with an apartment (key money covered by us).
