Job Description

Lingo's wide ranging skillset includes strong backgrounds in mission critical, high availability and near real-time systems, multi-node/cluster systems, as well as the latest technologies such as distributed computing architectures and MPP (Massively Parallel Processing) databases.

You will be handling high performance databases, up to 100TB in size, and often incorporate hardware and middleware into the scope of the project, to provide the client with full solution design and delivery.

The software development team works on a large-scale data processing system for a global solutions provider. As a software engineer within our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing solutions that support delivery improvements (both business and technical) across a large organisation.

Required Skills

Requirements:
A bachelors degree with honours or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
Strong software engineering skills/background and understanding of software design principles
Experience with the following languages: Perl, C/C++
Strong Linux skills - must be able to diagnose and repair problems
Experience with PostgreSQL or strong experience in another SQL based RDBMS
Strong communicator (fluent English is a must, but knowledge of Japanese would be a plus)
Willingness to learn and pick-up new technologies
Customer orientation with a strong ability to solve technical issues
Also highly preferred: strong Radio domain skills and consulting skills (to be used in team consulting)
Other beneficial skills/experience:

Understanding of mobile network system architecture
Experience with O&M of RAN and Core network telecommunications nodes (Ericsson equipment preferred)
Experience with large-scale systems (multi-TB databases, processing of large amounts of data).
Team-lead/management skills: Support staff management, team process improvement, interfacing with end users
Comfortable building scripts for task automation (perl/sh)
